The historic city of Bath offers a wonderful backdrop for capturing striking street photography images. On my workshops we wander the quaint streets looking for photo opportunities. Some are triggered by a change of weather. A sudden downpour that catches people off guard forcing them to improvise with bags covering their heads and in some cases their shoes. Better prepared people have matching Union Jack umbrellas that create an appealing focus to the photograph.

Bath is famous for Sally Lunn's Bath Buns and there are lots of fantastic cafes for a well earned cup of tea or coffee. Don't switch off though as photo opportunities can come to you. For example, a group of pigeons eagerly investigating the remains of somebody's lunch.

Indoor markets can be another place to pause and wait for the photographs to appear in front of you. For instance, a group of young men all trying flat caps on at the same time and admiring themselves in the mirror was worth waiting for. Indoor markets have a wide range of stalls that attract their own distinctive clientele producing a rich variety of images.

Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your photography further, there's always something new to discover. Bring your camera, your curiosity and a sense of adventure, and let's capture the everyday magic of Bath together!
