Brighton is a fantastic place to explore the world of street photography. With its vibrant festivals, bustling streets, beautiful coastline and colourful characters, the city offers an endless variety of photographic opportunities. My Brighton Street Photography Workshop is designed to help you see the city with fresh eyes, experiment with your camera and discover new ways to capture its unique atmosphere.

Our photographic adventure takes us through the famous Lanes, where colourful shopfronts, independent boutiques, street performers and bustling cafés provide endless inspiration. It's the perfect environment to practise composition, capture candid moments and look for those fleeting interactions that tell a story about the people and places around us.
We also explore the magnificent Royal Pavilion, with its exotic architecture and distinctive domes, offering opportunities to experiment with shapes, patterns and contrasting perspectives.
Brighton is famous for its festivals and colourful characters, so there's always something happening. From musicians and performers to people simply enjoying the seaside atmosphere, we'll look for interesting expressions, unusual juxtapositions and those unexpected moments that make street photography so rewarding.

Brighton's seafront offers a completely different set of creative possibilities. The famous West Pier, with its striking skeletal remains, makes a wonderful subject against the ever-changing sea and sky. Seagulls, beachgoers and the textures of the pebbled beach add further opportunities to capture the character of this iconic coastline.
During the workshop, we'll explore how changing your shutter speed can dramatically alter the appearance of a photograph. Using a fast shutter speed allows you to freeze the action of waves, birds and people, capturing crisp details and split-second moments.
Alternatively, slowing your shutter speed opens up a whole new world of creativity. Using a tripod and neutral density filters, we can experiment with long exposures to transform moving water into soft, misty seascapes. The movement of the waves becomes an artistic element, creating images with a calmer, more tranquil feel.

As daylight fades, Brighton takes on a different personality. Streetlights, illuminated shopfronts and passing traffic create exciting opportunities for night photography.
We'll explore how longer shutter speeds can turn moving vehicles into colourful light trails, adding energy and movement to urban scenes. Experimenting with exposure times helps you understand how light, movement and timing work together to produce striking images.
Whether you're just starting out or looking to take your photography further, there's always something new to discover. Bring your camera, your curiosity and a sense of adventure, and let's capture the everyday magic of Brighton together!
The cost is £100 per person, with groups limited to four photographers to maximise 1-2-1 advice and guidance.
